Executive Mission

History

About us

The arts magnet for middle school students began in 1992 at Wharton Middle School.

After several years at Wharton, the arts magnet moved to our new facility in 2006.  I.T. Creswell is actually the site of Cumberland High School, which was removed so the new building could be built.  The gymnasium from the old high school still remains, completely refurbished.

Financial Mission:

Fundraising will be done with the intention of:

  1. Supporting continuing education for our teachers

  2. Supplementing funds to purchase classroom supplies and technical tools needed to enrich learning experiences

  3. Preparing our rising eighth graders for high school selection by providing students and parents with exposure to schools that support their academic as well as their artistic interests, allowing students reach their full capability and potential through informed decisions.

All monies, and planned intent of monies, will filter through transparent documentation channels showing that funds are used to the manner in which our organization has approved.

Social Mission:

To encourage and welcome all our student families into our school by hosting festivals and events that brings families together, as well as through fun, extracurricular activities that promote a positive attitude of the school experience by showcasing the variety of Arts programs included in the school charter mission.

Central Mission of the PTSO:

We believe that the three mission objectives stated must work together equally and in a manner that demonstrates deep respect for students, teachers and parents, whether on or off school grounds, ultimately strengthening relationships in our school, community, and family groups.
